Video: Overseas Trio On Gold Coast Crime Spree
A Chilean trio are to be deported back to Chile after committing a series of offences while holidaying on the Gold Coast.
The father and two sons were behind a bag snatching where a Carrara woman was dragged 20 metres down a street. The trio had seen the woman withdraw a large amount of cash from a bank at a shopping centre and followed her. They also pleaded guilty to an attempted break and enter, and a theft from an optical store.
They were arrested in Sydney before being extradited to Queensland and then deported back to their home country. According to Michael McMillan, it was a hastily and poorly executed plan and they will hopefully rethink this sort of rash behaviour in the future.
